You are responsible for the cost of shipping from you to me, and from me back to you.
Shipping cost depends on the weight of your package, and the amount of insurance.
1. I WILL NOT SHIP ANYTHING WITHOUT TRACKING.
Purchasing insurance is your choice, but tracking is required.
My default recommended insurance amount is $200/head, but this is up to you. Please let me know how much insurance you would like.
2. YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE TO SIGN FOR A PACKAGE FROM ME.
If the insurance amount is above $200, USPS automatically requires a signature. $200 and under, I will add Signature Confirmation service. This is for everyone’s peace of mind, and the dolls’ safety.
3. PLEASE USE TRACKING ON YOUR PACKAGES ON THE WAY TO ME.
It is extremely rare that packages go missing, but 1% of the time, it’s possible. Without a tracking number, the package might be lost forever.
1. Shipping times
We typically have one post office day every week, usually that’s Friday. That’s when we (usually Mike) drop off a bunch of packages, and pick up a bunch more.
2. Shipping address
All my commission mail goes to a PO Box. If you are using FedEx, UPS, or another service that won’t ship to a PO Box, I have an alternate address. Both addresses will be included in your invoice email.
Within the US, my preferred shipping method is USPS Priority Mail, insured for roughly what it would cost you to replace the head/part in question plus the cost of my work. I also add Signature Confirmation. For one SD or MSD sized head, insured for $200 with Signature Confirmation, the cost is usually $13. The price goes up by $1 for every $100 in insurance after that.
Once we go over 2 lbs in weight (usually 4 SD heads or more), we might invoice you after the package has been sent home and we know exactly what the cost was.
International customers have the choice between EMS (basic or insured) or Priority Mail (basic or insured). Those are the only two shipping options that offer a tracking number. On average, EMS runs between $60-$70, and Priority runs about $45-60.
The cost can vary and the calculator on the USPS website is unreliable for international postage, so typically I do not charge international customers for return shipping until after we have sent back the doll and know exactly what the cost was.
5. Full Dolls
If you are sending a whole doll (domestic or international), I will also not ask for the shipping fee until after we have sent back the doll and know exactly what the cost was.
6. Your responsibilities
It is your responsibility to make sure your doll is well-packaged on its way to me. I will inspect the doll when I unpack it, and check with you if I see any damage to it to make sure it was there before.
PLEASE SEND YOUR DOLL WITH A PLASTIC FACE SHIELD. If you don’t have one, you can rig one with a plastic cup or tupperware (see the “TIPS” tab above). ^_^ I highly recommend using insurance and/or tracking or signature confirmation.
7. My responsibilities
I promise that I will take utmost care of your doll while it is with me. I will pack it carefully and securely on its way back to you, and I will send you the tracking number once your package is on the way. If the box your doll came to me in is too small or damaged, I might re-box it.
I can not be held responsible for any loss or damage that happens in transit, unless the doll was packed in a shoddy way (which it won’t be).
