Shipping delays update

Hi everyone,

I spoke to someone at my post office about recent delays. Apparently, this is happening a lot right now because of changes to the USPS system. This comes up on a search:

Systemic Changes: USPS is undergoing a long-term transformation under its Delivering for America plan, which consolidates hundreds of local processing facilities into fewer regional hubs. This restructuring has increased transit paths and delivery times, causing widespread delays and occasional lost mail. The second phase of service standard adjustments, effective July 1, 2026, further altered mail routing and processing, contributing to delays as mail is scanned at regional hubs rather than local entry points, making early tracking appear delayed or “stuck” even when in transit.”

So far, the tracking on most of the packages I’ve sent last week finally updated after about a week of no movement. Hopefully, this stuff will be ironed out soon and we can get back to smooth transit.

I want to note that USPS is generally still the best option to ship things though. They’re generally the fastest, cheapest, and most reliable, with the least unexpected surprise fees.
